Read this if you want the toy to last longer - it is a great product! July 16, 2010 Jim Hughes (Cambridge, MA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was puzzled initially when I saw so many reviews for Air Hogs products saying that the battery life was very short. We never had this problem. Then I finally realized what the difference is (or at least what I think it is). DO NOT use regular AA or AAA batteries with these toys. Those batteries do not have adequate juice for these toys and will, as posted by other reviewers, last only a couple of minutes. The solution? BUY RECHARGEABLE AA batteries! We use the Sanyo Eneloop ones. The rechargeable batteries pack so much more punch, you will get a significantly longer play time with these toys.
As for a review of this product - we happened to come across it at Toys R Us. Picked it up and it is truly a great toy. Very unique concept, another innovative product from Air Hogs. It lasts at least a good 15 minutes or so before requiring a recharge (charged with the Eneloop batteries). The only concern I have with this toy is that as the battery becomes weak, the fan keeps rotating at full speed, but the toy does not fly higher if you put your hand under it. I am concerned that it might cut our son's finger - hasn't happened so far. I am guessing it has some sort of trigger which stops the fan if it comes across resistance, it does stop if I put my hand in there, but I'm not sure if a 3-year old's hands can provide adequate resistance for the fan to stop. And I don;t even want to try, so we just be careful when the battery is becoming weak and put it to recharge.
Extreamly Annoying July 5, 2010 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this for myself because the reviews were good and I had the money. Most of the reviews said the toy was amazing. Don't be fooled. The Vectron Wave has a battery that only lasts about 5 minutes! It doesn't respond fast enough when you put your hand under it so your fingers end up getting sliced by the blade. When it hits your hand it then goes crazy and flies all over the room hitting things. When it does that it breaks itself and your things. Dust and hair is always getting cought in the blades so you constantly have to stop and pull them out. On top of that it is loud, makes annoying sounds, and only goes up and down! I was very upset with this product. Air Hogs is a bad brand of toys. Never buy anything from them if you value saving money.
Terrible! June 9, 2010 Beach bum 444 (MO) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toy does not work. It is junk. It is one of the worst toys I have ever purchased. It stays stuck on the ceiling and that is it and when you try to get it down you have to be careful so you don't get your fingers caught in the spinning blades. I am shocked to see other people liked this toy. I guess theirs worked as advertised. Mine sure didn't. I returned it.
Disappointing May 11, 2010 M. Poe (Iowa) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
We bought this for our son's 10th birthday. Within 3 hours he said he was ready to take it back. It is really cool but it only works for 2-3 minutes and then you have to recharge it which takes up to 30 min. Not worth it.
Pretty cool! April 6, 2010 Terry K. Wood (Rio Linda, CA United States) This was a gift for my 7 year old grandson. He was very happy with it. It works just like it shows on t.v.. Unfortunately, after ordering it I found it a Target for $[...]. But it seems like a pretty cool toy. I was worried about it knocking things over in the house, but it doesn't. It is safe for indoor play.
